Cuboid is a hexahedron, a solid structure with six rectangular faces intersecting at right angles. If the hexahedron were regular, its faces would be squares and it would be a cube. A rectangular block is another name for a cuboid. The length, width, and height of the cuboid are denoted by l, w, and h, respectively.

In the above cuboid figure, ‘l’ represents the length, ‘h’ represents the height and ‘w’ represents the width of a cuboid.

Volume of Cuboid Calculator Use

  • It’s really easy to use this cuboid volume calculator.
  • To calculate the volume of a cuboid object, all you need is its length, width, and height.
  • Fill in the dimensions in the appropriate fields in the above calculator and let it handle the rest.
  • Make sure that all of the dimensions are in the same units.
  • Within a second of entering the dimensions of a cuboid, the calculator will output the volume of the cuboid.

Cuboid Volume Formula

The volume of a cuboid can be calculated using a simple formula. Use the formula below to calculate the volume of a cuboid.

In the above cuboid volume formula, l, w, and h represent the cuboid’s length, width, and height, respectively.

How to Find the Volume of Cuboid

If you want to calculate the volume of a cuboid on your own, you can do so using the volume formula above. We’ll walk you through the process of calculating the volume of a cuboid step by step. We have several solved examples below that show the steps to calculate the volume of a cuboid.

Note : When measuring the cuboid’s dimensions, make sure they’re in the same units.

Example

1. Below figure depicts a jewellery box with a lid, with measurements in centimetres. Calculate the jewellery box‘s volume.

Solution :

Length of jewellery box (l) = 42 cm
Width of jewellery box (w) = 19 cm
Height of jewellery box (h) = 14.5 cm

Using the cuboid volume formula,

Volume = l x w x h
Volume = 42 x 19 x 14.5
Volume = 11571 cm3

The volume of a jewellery box is 11571 cubic centimeters.

Example

2. If the length of cuboid is 12.5 inches, the width is 22.5 inches, and the height is 32.5 inches, calculate the volume of a cuboid.

Solution :

Length of cuboid (l) = 12.5 in
Width of cuboid (w) = 22.5 in
Height of cuboid (h) = 32.5 in

Using the cuboid volume formula,

Volume = l x w x h
Volume = 12.5 x 22.5 x 32.5
Volume = 9140.625 in3

The volume of cuboid is 9140.625 cubic inches.
